Give ‘Em Something to Talk About

Parties have to be some of the best things about the holidays. Christmas, New Year’s — seriously, I don’t care. I love to celebrate with people I love.

Whether it’s large or small, a fabulous soiree can help you forget about the stress of work, and escape the overall pressure that often accompanies the season. Spending time with friends and family is a beautiful thing, even if it means having to brush off mean ol’ Aunt Edna’s awful remarks from time to time.

I haven’t thrown my own Christmas or New Years party since having kids. Maybe one of these years when they’re a little older, I will summon up the energy to do it.

But in the meantime, I got to collect some party tips for people who are awesome enough to pull it together and entertain. The story ran today in USA Weekend magazine, and it was a fun one to report and write.

Then, when I saw the cute layout, it made me feel all festive and sparkly inside.

No matter what you celebrate, may your season be merry and bright!
